Patrol Method
Patrols are the building blocks of a Boy Scout troop. A patrol is a small group of boys who are similar in age, development and interests. Working together as a team, patrol members share the responsibility for the patrol's success. They gain confidence by serving in positions of patrol leadership. Patrol members enjoy the friendship, sense of belonging, and achievements of the patrol and of each of its members.

“The object of the Patrol system is mainly to give real responsibility to as many boys as possible, with a view to developing their character.” |
Roundtable
Boy Scout Roundtables are a form of commissioner service and are supplemental training for volunteers at the unit level. The objective of roundtables is to provide these leaders with program ideas; update information on policy, events, and training opportunities; and offer an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders.
Shakedown
Scouts hike together to make sure they have all the camping gear they need. Generally done several times in preparation for high-adventure camping trips, such as Philmont, to make sure Scouts are fully prepared.
